Full-Stack Developer based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Final-year BSc. CSIT student at Tribhuvan University — building AI-powered web apps, chess engines, and experimenting with photogrammetry & AR.
About
Hey! I'm Kalpit Dhakal — a final-year BSc. CSIT student at Bhaktapur Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, graduating January 2027.
I gravitated toward the MERN stack because it lets me own the full product — from a React UI to a Node API to a MongoDB schema — without context-switching between languages. That end-to-end ownership is what I enjoy most about building software.
I'm looking for a full-stack or backend internship where I can contribute to real features, learn from a team, and work with production-grade code. I'm also security-aware, having competed in CTF challenges covering web vulnerabilities and Linux exploitation.

Projects
A MERN web app preserving Nepali cultural heritage through photogrammetry-generated 3D temple models. Built as part of a 3-person team — personally responsible for the React frontend, UI/UX, and ARCore integration. Used NodeODM to produce textured 3D models from photos, enabling in-browser AR viewing on mobile.
A solo project — a fully functional chess engine in Java with complete rule enforcement (castling, en passant, pawn promotion). Implemented Alpha-Beta Pruning to cut evaluated game-tree nodes by ~50% vs. standard minimax, improving move latency at depth 7. Integrated MySQL for game history and post-match replay.
A solo project — a news aggregator built with .NET MVC and SQL Server. Integrated Azure AI to auto-generate article summaries, reducing average read time per article. Deployed on Microsoft Azure for scalable cloud hosting with a responsive Bootstrap UI.
